A garden at a millworks in the heart of the state’s cornfields is proving popular with some of the plant’s workers.

The MillWorks Family of Farms, which was formed in 2014, now has a large plant that can produce up to 4,000 kilograms of grain a year.
Mr Ralfe said he wanted to give back to the community.
“The Millwork family started farming in the 1970s.
The millworks are a family that has been farming in Australia for over 200 years,” he said.”
When we were kids, we would go out and harvest the grain that came in.”
Mr Rufe said the family would use the land for a garden and grow tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, onions and tomatoes.
“We grew tomatoes and peppers and then they grew cucumbers and onions,” he explained.
“Now it’s been a long time since we’ve done that.”
Farmers and gardeners were delighted to learn about the new plant.
“It’s a really good addition to our landscape,” one of Mr Rolfes daughters, Emily, said.
Ms Rolfer said her family would also use the plant for gardening.
“My dad’s the owner of the mill, so we’ve been growing potatoes for years,” she said.
Mr and Mrs Rolf, who are now in their 50s, were both born and raised in the city, but were both able to work in the mill before moving to the suburbs of Melbourne.
“Our parents were mill workers and we loved it.
They would work from 10am until 4pm.
I’d go there and work in my car from 7:00am until 6:00pm,” Ms Rolfee said.
Millworks is one in a number of millworks across the state.
Farmers from around the state are turning up to work every day, but some of them say it is not always safe to do so.
“A lot of times the people that work there have accidents and things that happen,” said Mr Rufey.
“Sometimes the plant is very, very sick, and they can’t get up.
They’re pretty sick.””
There’s some people that get really ill and it gets to the point where it’s a little bit scary for them.”
The Milleworks at Colombia is one example.
The farm is part-owned by the Millworkers family, which also runs a mill at Lonsdale, and has its own land that is adjacent to the mill.
“For the past 15 years, we’ve had a lot of injuries and things like that,” Mr Ralfee said, explaining how they had tried to keep the mill running for safety.
“But we’ve seen the last of that, so now we have to make a decision to move the farm to another part of Melbourne.”
“It seems like a lot is happening in the environment right now.”
Mr and Ms Rufes farm is one that is now in danger of being destroyed, with the MillWorks building being torn down and the farm now under water.
The couple are hoping to buy the land back from the MillWorkers.
