Millworks has announced that the team at its Millworks in New Brunswick will be moving into its new headquarters.
The team is expected to be announced next week, with the announcement to follow on Wednesday.
“We’re really excited to announce that we’re moving into the new headquarters in the downtown Halifax area,” Millworks general manager Steve Stokes said.
“The new headquarters will bring a lot of great people with a lot more experience.”
The Millworks facility is located just north of Halifax’s historic Halifax Centre.
The millworks team was born in the mid-1990s, when Stokes was just a teenager, when his father built the first mill in the Halifax region.
In 2008, the Millworks team began producing high-strength steel for steel mills in northern Ontario.
They also began making tools for the millworks community.
The new Millworks will have more than 50 employees, including 40 from the Halifax area.
Stokes said the move was a great opportunity to expand and expand the mill, which has a total workforce of more than 100.
“This is a great day for the people of the mill,” he said.
“The mill has done an incredible job over the last 40 years.
I think it will continue to do an incredible work for the city.”
The new facility will be located at the corner of Main and Main streets in downtown Halifax.
It will be a mixed-use building with a rooftop terrace and indoor seating.
