article I’ve been a bit obsessed with building a smart house for a while now.
I’m not sure if it’s because I’m obsessed with the concept or if I’m just trying to figure out how to put this thing together.
And I’m happy to admit, I’m still figuring it out.
Here’s how to build one in minutes using a basic Raspberry Pi, a Raspberry Pi 3, and some Arduino.
The goal here is to build something that’s affordable, powerful, and simple.
It’s also an exercise in building with a little creativity and a little bit of patience.
This post is a part of a series on the DIY and IoT in 2017, and a follow-up post on this topic is planned for March.
The first part of this series covers building a DIY smart home.
We’ll discuss how to get started with building smart devices, but we’ll also talk about building a robot that can do the job.
For the next part, we’ll cover how to make a robot using the Raspberry Pi.
