Woodgrain Mills, a new label by the San Antonio, Texas, band Millwork, will release its first year of full-length albums on September 25.
The debut is called ‘Lemmings’, and is recorded by a trio of Millwork collaborators.
The album features tracks by bandmate Joe Brown, drummer Nick Miller and bassist Sam Miller.
The band is a collaboration between Millwork and local hip hop artist D’Angelo, who co-wrote the song “I’m on the Run” with Brown.
“We wrote ‘Lems’ because it was so simple to do and it was a simple song to write, which is why we wanted to make a song with that type of feel,” Brown said in a statement.
“We didn’t want to do too much because we wanted it to feel organic and like it’s just a melody.”
Millwork are gearing up to play a series of shows this fall, including one at the Atlanta Soundwave festival on August 22.
